Getting started
Animating on the timeline
The basics: pose to key, a curve on every segment, and spring handles you can pull. The export is generated from the same springs, so what you feel is what ships.
- Pose, and it keys
- Move the playhead, change a value, and a keyframe appears there.
- Per-segment curves
- Each gap between two keyframes has its own curve. Click it on the timeline and it opens in the curve panel.
- Several keyframes at once
- Marquee or ⌘-click to select a group, then drag, nudge or delete them together. A stagger is one decision spread over several diamonds, and retiming it one diamond at a time breaks the even spacing that made it a stagger.
- Type a value in place
- Double-click a diamond to type its number where the diamond is. Enter commits, Escape reverts.
- Interaction states
- Hover, press, focus and drag are states instead of keyframes. They don’t run on the playhead’s clock; they last as long as the interaction does.
- Everything is in ⌘K
- Every operation in the editor is in the command palette, including the ones with no visible button.
